Zalchos Platform Role
Zalchos Inc. is a technology marketplace platform. Zalchos does not sell, own, warehouse, or distribute alcohol. All alcohol sold through the platform is sold by independently operated, licensed liquor retailers (“Vendors”) who are solely responsible for their sales, inventory, pricing, order preparation, and regulatory compliance.
Zalchos provides technology infrastructure to facilitate connections between customers, licensed Vendors, and authorized delivery personnel. Zalchos collects a technology service fee for these services.
⚠️ The sale of alcohol on this platform is made by the licensed Vendor, not by Zalchos. Zalchos is a technology intermediary only.
Licensed Retailer Requirement
All alcohol sold through the Zalchos platform must come from licensed liquor retailers holding a valid provincial liquor retail licence (e.g., issued by the AGLC in Alberta).
Vendors must upload and verify their liquor licence before being approved and activated on the platform. Vendors are solely responsible for maintaining their licence in good standing and complying with all conditions attached to their licence.
Vendors are responsible for their own regulatory compliance. Zalchos does not assume regulatory responsibility on behalf of Vendors.
Vendor Responsibilities
Licensed Vendors on the Zalchos marketplace are solely responsible for:
- Setting accurate product listings, pricing, and inventory on the platform
- Preparing and packaging orders in compliance with applicable regulations
- Ensuring orders are not fulfilled to individuals under the legal drinking age
- Maintaining accurate transaction records for regulatory audit purposes
- Complying with all AGLC licence conditions and applicable provincial liquor laws
Age Verification
Customers must be of legal drinking age in their province to place orders on the Zalchos platform.
Age verification occurs at two stages:
- At checkout — customers must confirm they meet the legal drinking age for their province
- At delivery — a valid government-issued photo ID must be presented to the delivery driver
⚠️ Delivery cannot be completed without valid identification. Alcohol cannot be left unattended.
ID Verification at Delivery
Authorized delivery personnel must verify:
- Government-issued photo ID confirming legal drinking age
- The recipient matches the order details
Orders will be refused and returned to the Vendor if the recipient is underage, cannot provide valid ID, or appears visibly intoxicated.
Refusal of Delivery
Delivery personnel are required to refuse delivery if:
- The customer cannot provide valid government-issued photo ID
- The customer appears visibly intoxicated
- The recipient is under the legal drinking age
- Delivery conditions are unsafe or the recipient cannot be verified
No Unattended Alcohol Deliveries
Alcohol orders cannot be left unattended or delivered without direct recipient verification. Delivery personnel must hand the order directly to the verified recipient.
Regulatory Compliance
Zalchos works only with licensed retailers and operates in accordance with provincial alcohol delivery regulations across Canada. Zalchos does not hold a liquor licence and does not engage in the sale of alcohol.
Vendors are solely responsible for maintaining valid liquor licences and complying with all applicable liquor control authorities, including the AGLC in Alberta.
